IAYT supports research and education in yoga and serves as a professional organization for yoga teachers and yoga therapists worldwide. Their mission is to establish yoga as a recognized and respected therapy. As of 2014, IAYT has over 3,400 individual members from 48 countries, and over 130 member schools.
Ajna’s New 800 Hour Yoga Therapy Program was awarded accreditation in the first round of announced colleges on June 7, 2014. This means that anyone who graduates from Ajna’s 800-Hour Yoga Therapy Program will be recognized as an accredited Yoga Therapist. This is an exciting step in the field of yoga therapy and Ajna is one of the first colleges internationally to have an accredited program.
Ajna Yoga is registered with the Yoga Alliance at the 200-Hour and 300-Hour level. Schools that register with the Yoga Alliance are listed on the online directory as “Registered Yoga Schools” (RYS). Registration acknowledges that the yoga teacher training program meets certain standards for curriculum developed by Yoga Alliance and that training is conducted by experienced instructors. A school whose curriculum satisfies or exceeds our minimum training Standards may apply to register as a RYS. Once a school is registered, the students who complete their subsequent trainings are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT).
