Shoulder Tension Release Series (Yoga Therapy Student Practicum)

In this six week series, we will explore unconscious postural patterns that can contribute to shoulder tension, subtle ways to activate the deeper postural and inner core muscles that support the back and then end with a few shoulder release poses. You will be given the chance to try out the Back Mitra – a unique prop that we will be using to help facilitate this process. Participants will be asked to fill out an intake form. Props required are a yoga mat and a small ball.


Therapeutic Knees Series (Yoga Therapy Student Practicum)

In this six week series we will practice a sequence of gentle poses designed to nourish and strengthen the knee joint. You will be introduced to the anatomy of the knee joint and then we will explore how deepening the connection of the core/hip muscles to the feet contributes to knee health. Participants will be asked to fill in an intake form. Students will need a yoga mat, a foam chip block, and a massage ball. A back mitra or pool noodle is recommended. Email junewing@shaw.ca with any concerns related to obtaining props.



Yoga for Immune Fit (Yoga Therapy Student Practicum)

With the current global pandemic, people are concerned about how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. In this six-week series, we will learn how a holistic Hatha yoga practice has been proven to be an effective and time-tested method to naturally boost immunity. By adopting key poses, undertaking breathing, relaxation, and other techniques, we will strengthen and support the body and mind. Participants will be asked to fill out an intake form. Please bring a yoga mat and a small ball (tennis or other).
